Pavers Amsterslam2007
30th June - 3rd July 2007
250 Miles in 4 days, from York to Amsterdam.......and back!!

This will be the 3rd time we've made the trip to Amsterdam and we're happy to annouce that Pavers Shoes have decided to continue to sponsor us by becoming the Amsterslam07 event sponsor. Pavers boast the largest online shoe store in Europe and have over 61 shops in the UK. Please help us to help them by visiting them online at www.shoe-shop.com.

After the extraordinary 2006 event when we managed to raise over £5700 and attracted a dozen corporate sponsors and this year's all-female ride which raised over £9000 we're hoping to make this event even better!

We're raising money for Jessie's Fund, who are a UK charity dedicated to helping seriously ill and disabled children by using music as a form of communication and for therapy. A major part of their work is with children in hospices nationwide, providing a wide range of musical instruments and giving the children access to creative music-making and music therapy. They also work in other settings, including hospitals, child development centres, pre-school groups, and schools for children with special needs. More information can be seen on their website at www.jessiesfund.org.uk.

We're being set off at the York Designer Outlet by Andrew Dunn, from Dinnerladies and more recently Coronation Street.

    Find out about Jessie's Fund!
  • We're setting off on Saturday 30th June from York and will head to Hull, some 60 miles away where our overnight ferry to Rotterdam awaits. Once there, we'll check-in, find our rooms, have a quick shower and get changed ready to go to the entertainment lounge and watch Gary making a fool of himself on the dancefloor once again.

  • We wake up on Sunday morning to find ourselves in beautiful Holland, where cyclists are treated like gods and car drivers actually give way to you no matter what! We'll ride up the country, stop for a quick lunch and a paddle in the beautiful lake at Valkenberg and then head onwards to Amsterdam where we will stay in a hostel in the city centre so that the more curious of you can explore!

  • Monday morning see's the start of one of the most scenic days of the entire trip as we head back to Rotterdam through the centre of Holland. The riders will be amazed at the Windmills and canals as we pass through small towns and large cities before arriving back at the Ferry in time for our return journey. Once again, we'll get to boogie the night away, or collapse in a heap with a beer in one hand and a plastic windmill in the other before we're gently rocked to sleep in our cabins!

  • Tuesday morning and we're back in the Uk with an easy ride back to York and the finish line! We'll laugh at the people who swore that they wouldn't be able to make it as they beam at their awaiting families and friends! They'll have made some amazing friends on this trip and will be asking if they can take part in Amsterslam2008 before they know it!

We want to smash the amount of money we raised in 2006 for this event. Why don't you  help us!

We're also looking for corporate sponsors for this event. Could this be you? You can either donate bike spares, cycle clothing, goods that we can raffle off to raise money or simply donate some cash!  You can even have the ride named after your company by becoming an event partner, just as Ultimate Pursuits did for the Ultimate Pursuits Sea2Sea2006 event!

If you can help to fund the costs of the trip as a lot of our sponsors did for the 2006 event then please get in touch. You will get great value for money, lots of coverage on the website, in local and national newspapers and we're hoping for some TV interviews too.

Contact us now to talk about how we can help each other to help Jessie's Fund or for more information see our support us page.
