125 Miles in 48 hours, from York Minster to Durham Cathedral!

Cost £30 Entry Fee (£25 if you register before the end of December 2009!) plus £45 accommodation fee.

We're cycling this 125 mile journey to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. See our sponsorship page here.

This will be the 6th time we've made the trip to Durham Cathedral.

  • Early evening on Friday - we'll leave from York Minster at approximately 5:00pm, cycle an easy, flat 15 miles to the camp-site at Linton Locks just North of York - a gorgeous place by the river. We'll dine at the Blacksmiths Arms in Newton on Ouse; great food and beer; after pitching the tents ready for closing time!

  • On Saturday morning we'll set off for the White Horse and a hill climb up and over the Yorkshire Moors - the support vehicle carries our tents, equipment and a change of clothes to the campsite on the foothills at the other side of the Moors. There we'll camp in a lovely pub  beer garden, enjoy another great meal and a few more beers before hitting the sack again.
  • Sunday morning, we'll be up early for a hearty breakfast and then we'll set off down the bank into Middlesbrough, along to Hartlepool for lunch by the sea and then work our way inland to Durham Cathedral and the finish line.

The route is mainly traffic free - trundling through countryside, amazing views and some fabulous industrial architecture in Middlesbrough. All of the riders will feel exhilarated when they finish at the huge doors of the impressive Durham Cathedral.

We're always looking for corporate sponsors for this event. Could this be you? You can either donate bike spares, cycle clothing, goods that we can raffle off to raise money or simply donate some cash!  You can even have the ride named after your company by becoming an event partner, just as Ultimate Pursuits did for the Ultimate Pursuits Sea2Sea2006 event and Pavers Shoes did for the Pavers Amsterdame07 and Pavers Amsterslam07 events!
